Hi everyone!
I'm new and this is my second post. I really need help. I need to
learn to tongue faster. I have a very sluggish tongue. Does anyone know any
exercises that will help me? A really good one, my teacher has tried almost
everything and he's about to break my Selmer on my head. While my Selmer is
still safe and my head is still attached, I want to learn how to tongue
faster. My teacher taught me to set the metronome to 60 (and increase tempo
gradually) and slur scales in 16th notes and then staccato down. That didn't
work well, my tongue is as sluggish as ever! It's the only thing that's
keeping me from playing Rondo from Mozart's Clar. Concerto.
One more thing, see, I think my copy of Mozart's Clar Concerto is
missing some notations or something. The Rondo movement. The 16th notes that
start at the end of measure 7 sounds so different from the way the guys on
the recordings. My music says staccato them all. On all the recordings, I can
tell that something is suppose to be slurred, so far I can tell that the
first 2 are slurred but I'm not sure about the others. Do you know which ones
are and know a publishing company that publishes this piece with all the
correct notations? My friend has a copy from Carl Fischer and I noticed that
it's horribly wrong, I noticed wrong notes in the Adagio movement, but I
didn't look at the rest.I was just flipping the pages, I have the version
from the Southern Music company, Please email me if you know a good copy!
One more thing before you read other mails. Just like my first
posting, any one selling a used Buffet Bb clarinet? Around $900? Thanks!
