Jim,
My short answer is:YOu buy what you can afford. If you don't mind
spending for a professional clarinet, go for it. Used ones should be fine
too, as you must know. I've only had good experiences with any mail
ordering I've done from a variety of suppliers. I don't think you have
anything to worry about there.
