One present favorites (I am always coming up with a new favorite) is Joan
Tower's Fantasy. This is a rather virtuosic piece, with extended cadenzas
for both clarinetist and pianist. Some of the intervalic material is
derived from the 1930's popular song Harbor Lights, and this tune is
briefly quoted. A very effective piece.
