There is a delightful recording by Charlie Neidich and the Mendelssohn
String Quartet in which Neidich adds some ornaments and improvizations. He
plays this on basset clarinet in a "Reconstruction of the original version
for basset clarinet by Charles Neidich" (Quote from the CD cover). This
work is couple with a remarkable performance of the Weber Quintet.
