Re: Kozeluch quartet. Score now available.

Those of you who follow the recordings of Dieter Kloecker may know of an
interesting recording titled "Quartetto Concertant"; it contains quartets
for B flat clarinet and string trio by Leopold Kozeluch, Peter von Winter
and Bernhard Crusell. (Bayer Records- BR 100 065 CD)

The von Winter and Crusell works have been readily available for years; when
Kloecker made his recording the Kozeluch was - dare I say it- unknown.
(someone is bound to correct me!) Kloecker's notes refer to an "autograph"
dated 8.12.1790 but without giving a location - perhaps one of the libraries
in Vienna or perhaps even from his own collection. This work was printed in
1801 by Sieber as the third in a series of string quartets.

I did see that Musica Rara was listing the Kozeluch in one of their more
recent catalogues, without an edition number, indicating that it was
somewhere in the pipeline. I don't know whether this publication has gone ahead.

In any case, the whole series of quartets has now been published in the
string quartet version, in a excellent scholarly edition by Roger Hickman.
Anyone wanting to play this worthwhile work can simply reconstruct the
clarinet part from the first violin part using Kloecker's recording as a
guide. Here are the details of the publication:
