Scott,
Good! It is about time that we start planning for our
contribution to "Music for the end of the millenium."

Several weeks ago in a whimsical mood I wrote to Bill Clinton
and told him that after about three years into his second term
he ought to consider holding an "End of the Millenium Jam Session"
at the White House and invite all of the amateur musicians who
are members of Congress to participate -- that it would be
a goodwill bipartisan affair, that the opportunity comes along
only once every thousand years, that it would offer a needed
boost to music education in this country, etc., and you know what I
got back by snail mail? A letter saying thanks but that the
President's busy schedule would not allow him to attend the
event to which I had invited him! 8-)
