Leslie Schroerlucke asks for suggestions on favorite American works for
clarinet and piano. For something more romantic that might balance out
Bernstein or Copland, you might consider Daniel Gregory Mason.

Pastorale, Op. 8 (copyright 1913) and

Sonata, Op. 14 (Copyright 1920)

I haven't actually performed these, but have heard recordings and have seen
the clarinet parts. They strike me as influenced by Brahms and worth an
occasional hearing.
