Subj: Suggestions for the new Adult Clarinet Student
Date: Fri, 21 Jun 1996 16:15:00 -0400

Hi,
I'm interested in learning to play the clarinet. I've had absolutely
no musical training but several years ago I attended a concert and
really enjoyed the sound of the Alto Sax.
I wanted to learn to play and when I checked out how to go about it I
was told that I had to learn the clarinet first. I bought a used
Bundy and signed up for some adult lessons.

After a few lesson my instructor said he wasn't going to teach adults
anymore. I may have been terrible or it might have been reality. In
either case I had about two lesson almost 10 years ago and once again
have the desire. It still works.

Now I live in the country (rural NH) and will be checking with school
depts about instructors BUT I would prefer to learn on my own at my own
pace.

Do you know of anything like a cd rom /software system that I could use?

My wife has a Miracle Piano and we think that's a great training system.

I've heard of the CASio... which was discontinued some time ago. Was it
any good?? Are there any other systems you or your readers could
suggest.?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don Glass

PS... I live the town of Grantham, NH.
