The biggest and most popular sheeet music store is Patelson's, which
is right behind Carnegie Hall -- on 56th Street and Seventh Avenue.
The one I go to is down in the East Village, it's called Fischer's,
it's right on Astor Place (4th Avenue and around 8th Street) -- not
quite the same selection, but sometimes you find some very good deals.
(Patelson's tends to have the more expensive versions.)

If you walk up and down 48th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues,
you'll find many musical instrument stores. Others here know probably
know more about these than I do, but I should say the Rod Baltimore
store did a nice repair job for me a couple of months ago.
