No, like Garbarek it is Norwegian, and Meraaker is a valley in Middle
Norway. The reference describing this primitive folk instrument is:
Bjorn Aksdal: Meraakerklarinetten. Trondheim: Ringve Museum, 1992.
It is a chalumeau-type instrument and not a modern clarinet.
