This brings up the whole question of the style ("genre"?) of a piece of
music and what it ends up playing like.
I was playing a Baermann "Elegy" last night: what an upbeat, semi-virtuosic
piece!!! Thanks for the definition on bagatelles; the first thing that came
to mind when I read it was the very last (keyboard) bagatelles of Beethoven.
Such trifles!!!
