I too saw a lot of bamboo-type plants up near Westminister, MD.

Do know that there is a nursery up near that area that sells reed cane in
an ornamental variety, as well as the generic stuff...given a chance,
arundo donax will take off.

Before planting, I contacted Local, State, and Federal Agriculture
people, to make sure it was OK to do this...no problem...'cept they
warned me also that it will become prolific (It hasn't, by any means,
taken over my 8 acres in Croom, MD).

So clearly, growing reed cane in MD (Central, Southern) is no problem.

Do they still have antique radio meets in the APL cafeteria?
