Greetings,

I would like to add the following to the gliss discussion. Try
starting on the top C of the gliss. Play the note with the correct
embouchure etc., then lower the tongue and distort the embouchure so that you
"smear" down to a semitone lower while still fingering the C. Smear back up
to the C, and repeat the process, going a semitone lower each time. Keep the
high C fingering throughout this exercise. Realistically, you should be able
to get down to a G, a fourth below, although I've heard of players being able
to play an entire C major scale in this way. Anyway, this exercise has
helped me to get the "embouchure feel" of this passage, and I hope that it is
of some use to you.
