I would like to try some of your Bb clarinet reeds on your free offer. I
play Selmer 10G clarinets, with a Gigliotti P facing mouthpiece, and
Gigliotti barrel. I am presently using Vandoren V12 #4.5 reeds, and they
work well, but need balancing. I have been a professional player,
college teacher, and not am teaching high school, but perform with
chamber groups in professional concerts rather retgularly. I like a reed
with lots of body, but with a thin enough tip for good response. The
meat should be in the "heart" of the reed; the portion I think of is a V
or U shape going resonably close to the tip, but with the remainder of
the "vibrating" portion back far enough to accomodate the long lay of the
Gigliotti P facing. The only proble with the V12 4.5 reeds, is some do
not lack enough body, and others need tip balancing. I do not know
enough about your grading methods to know what strength to order. I will
leave that to you. Please send them to me at:

Thank you for your generous offer. I will let you know what I think of
the reeds, and the cut, quality of cane, etc. if it will be of any help
to you......Sincerely, Mike Cavin
