I am interested in your sample reeds.

I play a selmer signiture Bflat clarinet and use LaVoz medium hard or hard
reeds on a Pete Fountain jazz mouthpiece for jazz and ordinary band work and
a Vandoren mouthpiece that is fairly open faced for solo work. I have tried
Vandoren reeds and found them inflexible in sound for jazz and big band
work--they are just too "classical " in sound. I play folk music (German and
Balkan mostly) as well as jazz and also play in the Community Band and
sometimes in the local Symphony. I am not a professional--just a busy
amateur and am looking for a reed which will produce a great variety of
sounds from my instrument and which will respond on long open face
mouthpieces. My ligatures are metal for the Vandoren mouthpiece and plastic
for the crystal Pete Fountain.

My address is
