Greetings!

In response to some of the general information questions that have
appeared lately, I would like to bring your attention to the Clarinet
FAQ that I maintain at

http://www.mika.com/clarinetFAQ/

If you have previously bookmarked it (prior to May 1) please note that
this is a new location.

Here is a sample of the many factoids contained in the FAQ:

Information about joining the International Clarinet Association and
The Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain is provided in
the Societies & Periodicals Section.

Over 50 titles are listed in the bibliography with sufficient information
to locate them in libraries or order from bookstores. Several theses are
listed which can be obtained from University Microfilms.

The FAQ lists over 50 stores and mail order suppliers of clarinet related
stuff, including addresses for Luyben Music in Kansas City, Eble Music in
Iowa City, and many other companies and individuals.

Most of the mainstream beginner and intermediate method books are discussed
in the Method Books section.

If you are looking for music by a relatively obscure "native son," the
International Music Centers section lists music contacts in over 30 countries.

Are you looking for the perfect mouthpiece? The Mouthpieces and Barrels
section lists more than a dozen mouthpiece makers. If you are just
curious about what setup other players use, the same section lists over
40 combinations that klarinet subscribers have used on instruments from
Eb through Bass.

I hope you find the FAQ useful.
