One model which I have a few of my students playing is the E-11 by Buffet.
This is a student level wooden instrument. It will cost a little more than
your life savings, though. The last one I picked out for a student cost
around $550. These clarinets are not nearly as well made as the
professional Buffets, but are a very good step up.
