In response to postings by Craig Hill and David Ross, I thought that I would
share what little I know about Carl Stamitz' works for clarinet and string
trio.

The 6 quartets of Op. 8 (Paris: Seiber, 1773) are in the keys of D (#1),
E-flat (#2, 4, 5, and 6), and F (#3); but I am not sure that all of them list
the clarinet as a possible instrument.

I believe that the 3 quartets of Op. 12 (Paris, 1775) and the 4 quartets of
Op. 19 (Paris, 1779) were all intended for clarinet and string trio. These
works are in the keys of E-flat (12/1, 19/1, and 19/3), B-flat (12/3 and
19/2), A (12/2), and E (19/4). In addition to Op. 12/2 in A that David Ross
mentioned, it seems that Op. 19/4 in E would also call for an A clarinet.

BTW, I would be grateful to David Ross if he could provide more complete
information about the Stamitz studies by J. Newhill and U. Rau.
