I have had good results trying to separate the two instruments
(clarinet and saxophone) as much as possible -- trying to really play
the saxophone like a saxophonist. I use a Rauscher mouthpiece, but
have also used refaced King, Conn, Charles Chedeville -- anything
with a large round chamber.
