Hi..........Try the VanDoren A35 rubber MP on the alto....it's a good all
around mouthpiece..esp. for a student. One word of caution...be careful not
to get the A35 Java.........also by VanDoren...sound is very harsh and does
not play as well. If your looking for a good student instrument, there's a
line around called Antigua. The distribution is not very wide and the horn
is made in Taiwan, but it's an exact copy of the Selmer. Of course it
doesn't play like a $3000.00 instrument but I think that it has the other
student horns beat
