Before orchestra rehearsal tonight, I pulled out one of the Zonda reeds I had
gotten in the mail today as part of their free reed offer.

First of all, my setup is as follows:

Buffet clarinets (c-12 b-flat, and r13 A, the A handpicked by Lurie)
Genusa mouthpiece
worn out (2-yr. old) Bonade inv. ligature, for which I have a replacement on
order.

I recieved strength 4.5 reeds, presumably because of the lay on the Genusa mp.
being suited for harder reeds. I found the to be very good in the sense that
the tip was of much higher quality than the VDs that I play on now. Granted, I
can't ballance a reed to save my life, but the tip of Van Dorens have always
given me trouble.

The only complaint I have is that the staccato (variation 2 from the Weber
Concertino) emitted a strange flapping sound beneath the tone itself.

I did not have the time nor chops to try anything else, but I will keep
eveybody up to date on my experiences. So far, so good!
