Hmm... this might account for the abnormally high number of chirps I've
been getting lately. Is there any way to minimize this, assuming I have no
choice but to pull out the centre joint? (As it gets warmer here, I have
to pull out a bit more, and have resorted to pulling out the centre joint as
the barrel is already pulled out ridiculously far.)

Maybe I should really look into getting a longer barrel or something. *shrug*
