My R-13s (about four years old), have lost quite a bit of the nickel in the
oddest places... mostly frequently-used keys. The factory in France has
offered a silver re-plate at no charge.... just bring the horns over!! Since
I am attending the ClarinetFest in Paris, I plan to do just that. Apparently
Buffet had a whole batch of clarinets with inferior plating, dating back
several years. I bought these horns in Flaggstaff at the 1992 ICA
Conference. FYI :>)
