Excuse me?

"Places that do plating" are just as professional and conscientious
as other service businesses, (which I admit may not necessarily
nominate them for a Nobel Prize) However, most plating shops are
_not_ use to the special requirements of the musical industry. What
is considered heavy plating in the "plating" industry is considered a
"flash" plating in the MI industry. Unless the plating shop is given
specific instructions, they will not plate as heavily as they should
and you will probably wear through their plating quickly.

NIckle plate does tarnish. It shows as a light gray usually and is
very difficult to remove.

If you are considering having your instrument plated, I would suggest
that you get in touch with Anderson Silver Plating in Elkhart, IN.
They plated most of the instruments made in this country.

Yes, I do plating, but I don't usually plate for other techs. Maybe a
touchup or something, but usually just my own customer's overhauls.
