About a week ago, I posted on the list about the concerto for 4 clarinets
of Schindelmeisser, suggesting that it was a very rare piece.

First I got a nice note from Australia that informed me that the work
was not so rare at all. In fact, said the note, Musica Rara had published
it in a piano edition. (Checking at this end determined that orchestral
parts are not available from MR, only the piano version.)

Then I got a remarkable note saying that the sender was performing the work
in Washington (state of) in June with an orchestra and using parts that
he had gotten from the late Jerry Pierce. It so happens that I gave
Jerry that set of parts, or I should say that I copied them for him from
my set. So I am glad to see that they are serving a useful purpose.

How amazing that this could all be discerned and in absolute
contradiction to what I believed to be true.

It's amazing. I'm just delighted that it turned out this way. I'm
happy.
