A fabulous collection of Klezmer groups predating the "current"
"revival" with so many fine groups playing and recording is found on the
Rounder Records label - called "Klezmer Pioneers" Rounder CD 1089 (One
Campt St., Cambridge, MA 02140. It features such artists as Naftule
Brandwein, Dave Tarras, Abe Schwartz, Sam Musiker and others.
Also, one of the current greats is Don Byron - founding clarinetist
of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, and also quite a fascinating, talented
jazz player - and he also recreated Mickey Katz performances!
