Gary,

I had thought of recommending a certain duet in reply to your
first inquiry, but was put off by the requirement that the
second-clarinet part be relatively easy.

Because your second message seemed to indicate that the response
to your earlier inquiry was minimal and that you were looking for
something more substantial than the duets suggested by your son's
teacher, I get the impression that you may now be receptive to something
not precisely within your original guidelines. I therefore suggest the
duet I thought of when I saw your first message.

The duet is entitled, "Suite for Two Clarinets" (1934) by Alan
Frank (Oxford University Press). I'd classify the level of difficulty as
intermediate, and both parts are of equal difficulty. There are a couple
of musical problems (meter change and rhythm), but the composition is
sufficiently interesting to warrant your spending the time to help your
son work out those problems.
