Concerning the first-chair clarinet auditions for the Minnesota Orchestra,
there won't be any. Burt Hara's position in Philadelphia is only for a year,
and it is my understanding that he is coming back to Minneapolis in '97.

By the way, his performance of Bernstein's "Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs" last
night (5/9) was wonderful. The program also included the now famous (thanks to
San Antonio) "Variaciones Concertantes." Same deal.
