Jacqueline,

In response to various comments about your gentle explanation of the usual
meaning of the term "clarinet quintet," you reacted (in part):

> PARDON ME!

> Needless to say, I'm having a VERY BAD day. My beloved is off for a
> six-week festival in Flagstaff which I cannot do because I have a real
> job which I cannot leave for 6 weeks. So have some pity, you

Although I don't think the responders were attacking you personnaly, I'm
sorry you're having a bad day. I certainly can identify with that
feeling. It sounds to me like you need a big hug from an understanding
clarinet community. All together now:

H H U U GGG
H H U U G
HHHHH U U G GG
H H U U G G
H H UUU GGG

I hope you're feeling better now, Jacqueline. Now go play a clarinet; if
all else fails, that always makes me feel better.

Cautiously,
Mitch Bassman
