Since I thought this response to Barbara's question was general enough, I
am posting it vice just directing it to Barbara.

Yitzhak Perlman has a video and audio cassette entitled "in the Fiddler's
house" which, although he takes what would be the clarinettist's part is
an interesting tape although I have not seen the video. Additionally, PBS
had aired a special (also have not seen) with Perlman on Klezmer.

TARA publications has a GREAT book written by a fellow named (I think)
Henry Sapoznick with pages and pages describing Klezmer's history and
containing many, many songs. Not sure of the address but believe the book
is in the $20 range including shipping.

Finally, suggest you do a "netsearch" on "KLEZMER" there, you will find a
home page listing tons of links to active klezmer groups all over the
WORLD - it's a great reference page. I am sorry that I don't have the
exact url address handy!
