I have a student who recently purchased a clarinet from a pawn shop. She
had it overhauled and it seems to be in good condition although it looked
really dry. I showed her how to oil it and within a week and a half's time
it was oiled three times and it still looked dry. What recommendations are
there? Should it continue to be oiled until it looks healthy, or should we
hold off on oiling for some time? (How long?)
