There has been some discussion of Zonda reeds on this forum, and someone just
asked the question "Who is the representative for Zonda in this group?". My
name is Mike Abbott, and I'm the general manager of HiNotes, the company that
is bringing these new reeds to market. We are a new company from the
president of Powell Flutes (who is a clarinetist), and yes, this cane is
grown totally pesticide free in Argentina.

I have been monitoring this list for the past year, and I've learned a lot
from all of you- about your setups and preferences. This has to be one of the
best and most active forums of its type on the Internet, and I think you are
all to be congratulated for its success.

We have sent a direct mail offer for a free box of reeds to all of the
clarinetists in the US and Canada that we knew how to contact. The response
has been overwhelming, to say the least- we're swamped with request forms,
and are working diligently to get the samples out to those who've responded.
I'd like to make that offer to those of you who did not get our initial
invitation, but there is no way we can do your requests justice right now. If
you'll give us another week or ten days to deal with our current backlog,
I'll let you know when we can move forward with that round of samples. We
have to sleep sometime, you know! :)

If you have questions or comments about HiNotes or Zonda Reeds, you can
E-mail me directly at HinotesInc@-----. I am sensitive to keeping this
forum commercial free, so I have been reluctant to start broadcasting
messages all over the place. If you think that the group at large would be
interested in this info, I would be glad to post it to Klarinet. Thanks for
all the positive feedback we're receiving- it's very gratifying and exciting.
