The Wells-Fargo wagon came today with the Zonda reeds. I had just time to
put one on, play a scale and head out to rehearsal where I played it for two
hours. The verdict: Terrific! If the others are as good I may never play
any other brand. Mine are 3-1/2 strength and I'm using an early Eddie
Daniels MP. This cane is not wimpy; it holds quite a bit of moisture but
does not lose its elasticity on playing. Those who like to play on punky
cane may find it somewhat bright, but for me it seems just right both for
jazz and legit. I am not usually enthusiastic about new reeds. My last
good box was in 1942 - they were "Gold Cut." Any one remember them?
