I think I was the one who proposed that solution to the puzzle of the
dating of the clarinet. Yes, it is true that Graslitz was still in
Bohemia after Czechoslavakia was formed, but I believe that Kohlert
changed the logo which they stamped on their instruments after the first
world war so that it read "Czechoslavakia." That's from my memory of my
first bassoon, a Kohlert dating from the 1920's.

So for the moment, I think I will stick to my contention that it probably
is pre-1918, but would gladly defer to any more informed judgement.
