Russianoff mentions a useful exercise to get the idea of or remind one
respiratory muscles of what breath support is: take a small piece of
paper, place it on the wall a foot or so away and blow through pursed lips
at it and let go of it, keeping it on the wall with only the air column.
Do this whenever air support seems deficient. Then go right back to
playing the clarinet, with improved results.
