Dear KLARINET reader,

I have been awarded a Pew Charitable Trust-Summer Research Grant to update
my 1990 doctoral treatise from Florida State University: An Annotated Survey
of Original Clarinet Concertos With Wind or Chamber Ensemble Written by
American Composers Between 1978 and 1987 (University Microfilms
#AAG9112107). The original treatise uncovered and analyzed 20 new
concertos, 14 of which were discovered only because of a similar survey as
this. The Pew Grant is funding the costs of this survey (3900+
snail-mailed), purchasing scores and recordings, and funding my time to
complete the analysis' and writing by early this Fall. Your quick response
is critical for this compact time table.

If you know of any works which would (might) meet the following criteria,
please complete E-MAIL me the information.

1. American composer broadly defined as: (a) U.S. citizen, or (b) living in
the U.S., or (c) teaching/composing in the U.S.

2. Clarinet Concerto composed between 1987 and 1996 for Solo Clarinet (or
double concerto) accompanied by primarily a wind/percussion group of any
size, ie. Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Chamber Group,
or Winds with a couple strings.

E-MAIL any information you know: Title, Composer, where to contact composer,
publisher, who may have played/conducted it, etc.

Thanks,
