okay, I'll bite... what's so special about Fobes' barrels??? Can anyone
(Clark, if he likes) explain what's the diff???
I play on the barrel that came with the clarinet (Yamaha 62/"52" south of
49), that has been reamed out, filled in with an insert fashioned from
melted mouthpiece rubber, and re-reamed... It's something that Wes Foster
(principal, Vancouver Symphony) does with the aid of someone in the states
who does the plastic/rubber melting and filling-in (can't remember the
fellow's name) - I like it lots... Sound feels 'cleaner', easier,
'brighter' (ooh, duck and run for cover)...
cheers folks!
