I have my pads corked. Where cork wont work (including the
bottom joint) my repair guy uses a material he makes my melting
a layer of plastic over the cork and then the pad is cut out of the
sheet. The stuff seals much better than regular blatter pads and last
a long time. The one thing I need to be careful with is keeping these
pads adjusted correctly. They don't have the leeway that blatter pads
do. I suppose this true of cork pads also.
