Seems like the musicality in the Rabaud isn't nearly as difficult
to do justice to in comparison to the Mozart Concerto. I have worked
at a few contests and have heard the Mozart killed time and time again
from a musicality perspective. Here in Wisconsin, the contest
organization provides a list of pieces for the student to select
from. The down side of this is that I heard 3 piece the whole day.
The Finzi, Stamitz and the Mozart are all fine pieces, but I would
suggest that there are other pieces out there that also great for
High School students. I've heard some high school students do a very
fine job on the Rabaud as well as Osborn's Rhapsody, Marty's Premiere
Fantisy and even Weber's Concertino can be tackeled by a good high school
student. Am I totally wrong here????
