Dear Colleagues,

I have been inundated with requests for my article. Please, PLEASE
try to find it in your local library first. If you just don't have
access I will send you a copy, but I need a STREET address. This is not
a loadable file.

I am considering re-publishing the article with some new
information regarding general acoustics of the clarinet and tuning
effects of barrels and mouthpieces.

I would also like to take this opportunity to nag all of you that
are not members of the International Clarinet Association to join. The
annual membership is very low for a professional publication. $35/ year
for US residents. This gets you 4 issues of THE CLARINET.

THE CLARINET is a wonderfully edited forum for anything regarding
the world of clarinet. Articles range from biograhical sketches of
artists to new research in musicology to the ever eclectic topic of
repertoire. In addition ANYONE who is interested in what's new in the
way of equipment will find all sorts of wonderful clarinet doo-dads
adverised. If you have not read a copy of THE CLARINET recently go to
the library. The entire format has evolved into a very prestigious
publication over the past few years.

So come on!! You know you really want to be a full-fledged
clarinetophile!!!

I think it would be immensely informative to have a discussion of
articles in THE CLARINET on this list.
