Cathy----Steve's reply(ies) should be floating around as messages. It's a
crack "wannabe"; a hairline fault almost like a pen-scratch that's caused
by (among other things, I suppose) the bore failing to dry rapidly. Bill

Pardon my ignorance Steve, but what's a check? What's it look like? Where
does it come from? (What does it eat?) I've never heard of anyone having
a check in their clarinet.
