Ms Hefferlin,
Thanks so much for your note about Bezruchenko. I had read Pamela Weston's
book before I ever Knowingly heard any of his playing and was quite bowled
away when I heard the Leningrad recording of the Shostakovich 10th. I
have several other recordings including two by the the Berlin
Philharmonic, but to me they don't capture that magic in the first
movement. I am sorry that his solo recordings are not more
numerous. It must be great to have such memories of your time in
Leningrad.
