Hi, Nate,

Oh, the perils of a greaseless tenon! If you adjust for tuning between
the barrel and first joint, it should be greased very regularly, as water
will collect in between. If you can, leave the pieces together in a cool
(not cold) place until they shrink a bit. Wrap a cloth around the barrel
to get a better grip and protect it while you are trying to unscrew
(circular motion) the two pieces. Pulling generally does not work so
well. Also, holding the two pieces in close to your chest and upright
seems to improve the leverage (that's how I quick-switch my mouthpiece
from Bb to A in the dark orchestra pit, and I've not had an accident yet!)
