I think a good source for this would be Eugene Rousseau's dissertation
on early clarinet tutors. Lefevre was asked to write the official tutor
for the Paris Conservatory--but 1802 seems a bit early as he began his
teaching duties there somewhat later (ca 1812?). Hope this helps.
