There is a huge archive of popular and early jazz music (pre-LP) at
Syracuse University, and there is an online index for it somewhere.
You can search by individual musicians, and I went looking for Omer Simeon
(one of my favorites!) and found lots of recordings. It may also be
searchable by individual instrument....
