Last November I bought a new R-13 Bb - mistake!!! I love my new horn, but
here in Ohio we had an awful winter for clarinet cracks. I think I should
have had a frequent user card for Tim Clark's like the one you get at
coffee shops. In January, I got a crack 1 inch up and 1 inch down on one
of the register key posts. I just got my clarinet back - replace throat A
tone hole, the crack went 1/2 inch up from the hole, out the bottom of the
hole and luckly stopped short of the next hole. This winter was very
extreme in going from real cold one day to 40 degrees higer the next and
with dry heat in the house. I afraid to take it out of the case untill it
stays warm here.
