Did anyone else go to this? I was there, and had a great time! I played
with the Alumni Choir, even though I'm only in high school... I was the
one that stuck out like a sore thumb because I didn't know it was a more
formal concert so I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I hope that was the
only reason I stuck out like a sore thumb - I thought I did OK for sight
reading that piece this morning. It was a pretty cool piece: Nelyhbel's
Chorale + Danza.

The only thing I didn't like about the Congress was that the exibitors
really didn't bring many instruments - Buffet had 5, Leblanc had 5 or 6
and a local music store had 2 Buffets and 2 Selmers. I found the
Buffet's the most interesting: They had 2 Bbs, 2 As and an Eb. The Eb
was great fun, especially since the only other one I'd played was a
Bundy! I can't remember which, but either an A or a Bb was a prestige,
but they were both R-13s. I didn't like them at all - maybe it was the
particular instrument, but they just didn't do much for me. I play a S1,
which is almost identical to a R13. The other two sopranos were the new
Green Line instruments - and they were fantastic!

I also liked the LeBlanc Opus... The alternate Eb/Ab is cool.

I have some questions though - I took home a catalog from LeBlanc (They
do have the Ab Sopranino that was discussed here a while back - but I had
to find it in the catalog - the salesman guy hadn't heard of it!)

Leblanc's top two clarinets (Opus and Concerto) have the Key Style:
labeled as "Offset Trill Keys" whereas the rest have "In-line "Jump"
trill keys". What is the difference?

Many of the instruments in the catalog have "articulated C#-G#" keys.
What is that?

Others have "fork Eb-Bb" kets - again, what is that?
