Hi Ed - my info is not up-to-date, but I bought my (Selmer) bass and
(Leblanc) basset horn at Vincent-Genod Musique in 1985. They're at 47, Rue
_de_ Rome (the French can be picky about details like that), phone (1)
522.16.80, and specialize in clarinets of all shapes and sizes (and the
people in the store were utterly charming, especially when they realized I
was actually going to spend some serious money!). The other place I
visited, which was much bigger and had saxophones (including the black
lacquered ones which I believe were new at the time) was just down the
street, "feeling" musique (I don't know whether the name is from the
English word, or maybe a name in some other language?). Anyway now that I
look at their catalogue they sell all the winds, perc and pianos, and have
master classes (featuring Michel Arrignon). They're at 61 rue de Rome, ph.
(1) 45.22.30.80, three blocks from the "Rome" metro stop.

Tell your friend I speak pretty good French (and English!) and I'll be
happy to be her guide, she'll only have to cover my expenses...
