I've only owned two wooden clarinets, and I'm fortunate enough to have never
had any situation come up with cracks -- knock on wood (excuse the pun!). It
seems to me however, that if I saw a crack starting to form, I'd get it
pinned right away. Getting it fixed *after* it gets bigger seems like that's
waiting too long. IMO, a tiny crack is nothing to worry about if and only if
you get it taken care of right away. Unless I'm mistaken, most repairmen
don't charge too much to pin cracks, so what's the point in putting repair off?
