Dear Clarinetists, (I hope you have not received more than one posting)
There is a new music festival (2nd year) in Lakewood ,NJ. called "The
Foundation for Art and Musical Excellence". The dates are August 3-11,1996.
There are 2 division levels-Pre-college, and Young Artists up to age 31. The
festival has 2 Orchestras ( Faculty -conducted by Ransom Wilson, and Festival
Orch.), a Wind Ensemble, a Symphonic Band, and an outstanding Jazz program.
There are daily master classes, chamber groups, and concerts. The faculty is
quite distinguished, including Judy Dines (Houston Sym.) and Ransom Wilson
(Yale, Lincoln Center) on Flute, the Washington Brass (U.S.Navy Band), the
Army Blues Director (Jazz Program), many New Jersey Sym. members, and Julliard
Faculty. I will be the Clarinet instructor. We have recieved applications from
17 countries, and have extended the audition deadlines to late April. Existing
chamber music groups are welcome to apply (you can send a Video Audition if
you need to). The festival cost including tuition and room/board is $700 US
(aprox) and scholarship money is available for the best musicians. We still
have about 12 Clarinet spots left. There is also a younger division of 14
years and younger who will be accepted by teacher recommendation (all
orchestral instruments). For Audition info please E-mail me.
Thanks,
